Greetings Thrift Store Shoppers and welcome to the periodical that brings you up-to-date news from the exciting world of thrift.

Pricing for a thrift store: At Kal Thrift we have one certified expert pricer. He used to own an antique store. However, everyone else that prices our donations are basically amature pricers. This works out very nicely for you. The bargain of the week was reported to me by an elected official that runs an office of 17 women and one man. She bought a new leather purse. It was priced at $10. It still had tags on the inside, so it was new. Accessories were on sale that day. She got it for $5. She looked the purse up online and discovered that new, the purse retailed for $150. She was drenched with compliments and replied ” I know this exclusive boutique on the corner of Main an Idaho”!!! **side note: [guilt got to her and she came back in to give the other $5]

Whitefish Thrift Store:

What does the term “Red Tag” really mean: Our stores survive on the generous donations from the three communities in which we serve adults with developmental disabilities. We receive every imaginable brand of clothing from new to threadbare. Often, particularly in Whitefish we are donated new or almost new clothing that someone paid a bundle for. Don’t know if it didn’t fit, wrong color, or it was an unwanted gift, but we get it, recognize the value and price it a bit higher than our other clothing. When I say ‘higher’, I mean a $75 shirt is priced at around $7. The lesson is: Go Red Tag shopping today!!

Columbia FallsThrift Store:

Glacier Thrift Store in Columbia Falls is located right across the street from Smith’s Grocery Store at 412 Nucleus Avenue.

Glacier Thrift in terms of sales percentage clobbered our other two stores last month. Congratulations to The staff and consumers for a job well done!!!!! I blame it entirely on the great customer service, the full store, and the great window displays; not to mention the wonderful donations!!

A thought: Thrift stores are a great source for children’s clothing and toys, because the kids often outgrow stuff long before they wear it out.
