Vickie began her career with Flathead Industries in October of 1981, holding various positions throughout her time. In 1997 she became the Co-Corporate Executive Officer, and assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer in April of 2004, and serves in that capacity today. She also serves as the Chief Executive Officer for Achievements, Inc., in Libby and Little Bitterroot Services in Plains. Vickie attended Eastern Montana College and the University of Montana, majoring in Special Education and holds two separate certifications in Human Resource Management. She values the changes throughout the years that have enhanced the lives of individuals with disabilities, and looks forward to Flathead Industries continuing to pave the road, as the ever constant demands of the federal and state governments create new challenges, requiring new creativity. During her free time, Vickie can be found spending time with grandchildren and at the family cabin on beautiful Flathead Lake.
Patrick Maddison has joined the Flathead Industries team as our Chief Operating Officer. He is a graduate of the University of Montana, School of Social Work and has dedicated his career to working with people with disabilities. Patrick Maddison was the Director of Case Management for Opportunity Resources before joining Flathead Industries. His prior work also includes Director of Services for Job Opportunity Based Services, Targeted Case Manager for AWARE and group home staff for Watson Children’s Shelter, where he found his passion for working with people with disabilities. Patrick forged his career to the have the most positive impact on the greatest number of individuals with disabilities.
Carmen joined Flathead Industries in July 1995 and is responsible for developing financial related goals that contribute to the organization’s mission and profitability. The finance and information technology team strive to strengthen and expand services to our consumers and staff in the most effective and efficient way possible. Over the course of her employment, Carmen has worked with various financial and data management systems to further support individualized services and document service outcomes. She welcomes the changes in our industry and the opportunity to meet and exceed their expectations. Carmen has a bachelor’s of Administration Accounting Degree from the University of North Dakota and has achieved a CPA designation.
Susan started her educational pursuits at Washington State University, remaining a Cougar fan and lover of Cougar Gold Cheese today. She moved to Kalispell and joined the Flathead Industries team in 1986 as a lead staff of a residential group home. While working at Flathead Industries, Susan received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of the State of New York in 1991 and a master’s degree in human services from Capella University in 2008. Today Susan leads the specialized services team as well as Day Services program, providing specific and focused supports for individuals with a variety of behavior and/or mental health service needs. In her free time Susan enjoys growing flowers in her greenhouse (starting while the snow is still on the ground!) as well as hiking, backpacking and kayaking in Glacier National Park and the surrounding Flathead Valley.
Mitch joined the Flathead Industries family in 2014. He is responsible for overseeing our programs and operations at our three thrift store locations as well as providing leadership for our marketing and communications department. Mitch’s passion for working with individuals with developmental disabilities comes from time spent with his niece and the impact she had on his life. Mitch received his Bachelors of Science in Business from Montana State University in 2007. He joined Flathead Industries after serving as a District Executive with the Boy Scouts of America. His prior work experience also includes leadership roles with Clearwire and Enterprise. Whether at home with his wife and two children or at work with Flathead Industries, Mitch always strives to have a positive impact on those around him and to provide them the support to find success and happiness in their life.
Shannon began her career working with people with disabilities as a Special Olympic coach in North Dakota. After coaching athletes with Intellectual disabilities, she and her family moved to South Dakota where Shannon worked in the school districts Special Education Department for two years. Shannon and her husband then moved to Glasgow Montana when her husband accepted a teaching position. In Glasgow, Shannon worked first with a high school students with physical disabilities and then accepted a position as a Group Home Manager for Milk River Inc. In 2006, Shannon and her family returned home to the Flathead Valley and readily accepted a Lead Trainer position with Flathead Industries. Her passion, talent and dedication for working with individuals with intellectual disabilities were evident and she eventually became the assistant manager of Flathead Industries Community Homes. Currently Shannon Malmin is the Community Home Manager for Flathead Industries. She oversees six Community Homes, services to over 41 individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities and manages a team of 70 employees. Shannon and her family are baseball enthusiasts, Montana Grizzly super fans and outdoor recreation fanatics.
Kathy joined Flathead Industries in June of 2003. She held the positions of Hab II/ Quality Assurance. In 2008, Kathy began as Human Resource Manager. Her career has included positions at the University level as Project Coordinator in Community-based Employment, Personnel Training and a Life Skills Teacher. Kathy has taught at the High School level in the Special Education Department and has over 11 years of experience in Vocational Services. Kathy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and Special Education from the University of Idaho. She is also a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
Deb joined Flathead Industries January of 1995 working Residential Services in varying supervisory capacities, including Lead Trainer, Assistant Residential Director and Supported Living Program Manager. With her interest in safety she became our first Work Safe Champion and then Safety Director. Deb is currently the Systems Management Coordinator which includes managing our Work Com program. She also serves as our Incident Management Coordinator providing technical assistance to staff members regarding the agency’s incident management system and ensuring compliance with state regulations.
Jennifer greatly enjoys working with individuals with disabilities and feels that this is her true calling. Jennifer began working in the Human Services field in 2000 as a Direct Support Professional. She then became a Targeted Case Manager in 2008. In 2012, Jen and her family decided to pursue their dream and moved to Montana. Jennifer began her career with Flathead Industries as the Supported Living Lead Trainer and was promoted in 2015 as the Supported Living Manager. Jennifer currently has a team of over 10 staff that support over 30 individuals living in their own homes. Jennifer looks forward to a long career with Flathead Industries.
Cristie began her career with Flathead Industries in 2010 after working 18 years with Kalispell Regional Medical Center and 8 years at a Residential Treatment Center for troubled girls. Her background includes billing, medical records as well as Residential Tech, Case Manager and Residential Life Director. Here at Flathead Industries Cristie started working in the Production Center as a Hab I and soon after became the Lead Staff at the Life Skills Center (Rag Barn). Once getting the LSC running smoothly she moved back to the Production Center working as the Assistant Production Program Manager. Currently she is working as the Day Services Program Manager with a team of 12 staff and 39 individuals with developmental disabilities.
Becca began her career with Flathead Industries July, 2003. She has had the pleasure of holding various supervisory positions in the Community Homes, Supported Living, Thrift Stores and Day Activities. Becca currently oversees the Work Crew Services and is passionate about ensuring people receive a normalized work environment and training to be employed in the community doing their “Dream Job.” Becca is excited to continue to bridge the gap for people with disabilities and the work force.
Sarah began her career at Flathead Industries as a night attendant in a Community Home in 2010 while attending college for Graphic Design. After graduation with multiple degrees, she decided to dedicate her talents to Flathead Industries. She became a Community Home staff until she transitioned to Marketing and Public Relations Coordinator. Sarah holds several responsibilities including fundraising coordination, grant application/writing, graphic design, marketing media development and external communications. In her free time she enjoys challenging herself with mentally, physically and spiritually self-improving activities. Sarah is actively involved in supporting the community and enjoys volunteering.
Sam has been a part of Flathead Industries’ mission since 2002. Sam has been assisting with Special Olympics for over 12 years and provides musical entertainment for many events put on by Flathead Industries. Sam has held several positions at our Thrift Stores, Supported Living and as Community Home Lead Trainer. He has been involved in multiple changes within Flathead Industries from medication systems, Personal Support Plan training, to developing his current position at Flathead Industries as the Information and Technology Specialist. He also works as an IT Specialist for our sister companies in Plains and Libby. Sam’s goal is to expand the mission of Flathead Industries by meeting the growing need of technology in Disability Services.
