our stores
Flathead Industries’ mission for over 50 years has been “Creating Opportunities for People with Disabilities”. We do this through a wide range of services that include group homes, supported living, day programs, vocational rehabilitation, and 24/7 care for the individuals we support. These services exist across our community and require consistent staffing, training, facilities, and oversight.
Our thrift stores are one of several funding sources that help sustain these programs. While we do employ some people with disabilities in our stores, that represents a small portion of our overall workforce. The primary purpose of the stores is to help fund essential disability services, not to operate solely as a job program or discount retailer.
QUICK FACTS
Since 1973 we have grown from one group home to where we are now. We have seven group homes, two apartment buildings, and four townhomes. In addition to two day programs, five thrift stores, one online store, and 66 vehicles. This is all run by 198 employees to serve 120 consumers, and 90 clients in our vocational rehab program.
